The Story of the Acid House Spandex Shorts
As an artist, I have always been inspired, and to some extent, even driven, by music.
Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s I was privileged to go dance every weekend at Chicago clubs and raves. Starting with Medusa’s on Sheffield, and moving through other venues like Red Dog, Crobar, Shelter and Berlin, I lost myself in the acrid-sweet squelches and rhythms of acid house, one of my favorite variants of house music and techno.
Those sounds never left me. In fact, they needed to be expressed. Back in 2018, I designed a colorful print called Acid House, and I emblazoned it on spandex. That Acid House print by LED Queens became an essential part of the LED Queens history, and I manufactured Acid House as tights and shorts.
Acid House is still here.
This month I have brought back Acid House for a limited time to my curated collection of my spandex classics. You can now catch this pair of shorts in case you missed it back in 2018. I make these shorts in sizes XS-3XL, and the spandex is perfect for the gym, cardio, festivals or wherever the music takes you.
